What are the Pathways?
As every single Christian is called to service and ministry it is our baptism which immerses us in the life and mission of God. Within this foundational calling, the Church sets apart men and women to engage in that mission through specific ministries. In the PCANZ there are four strands of specific ordained and commissioned ministry to, with, and for the whole church. The Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership is responsible for the provision of training and formation for ordained ministry in the PCANZ.

Explore Your Calling
Such a calling is discerned communally. Whilst the Knox Centre for Ministry and Leadership oversees training and formation it does not oversee the discernment process which encompassed local church councils, presbyteries and the National Assessment Workgroup.
National Ordained Ministry (N.O.M.)
National ordained ministers (NOMs) are those whose call to leadership in the national church is recognised by the Church and who are trained and ordained for the ministry of word and sacrament as teaching elders in the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Local Ordained Ministry (L.O.M.)
Local Ordained Ministry equips leaders to serve in specific communities, focusing on local needs through a combination of theological education, on-the-job training, and contextual ministry experiences.
Amorangi Ministry
Amorangi ministry is unique to Te Aka Puaho. Te Aka Puaho is the equivalent of a Māori Synod within the Presbyterian Church of Aotearoa New Zealand.
Local Shared Ministry
A Local Shared Ministry Team is a group of people identified and called by their local congregation, and commissioned by the presbytery, to provide leadership which will further the mission, life and work of the congregation.
