Morning and afternoon teas, and a light lunch provided.
Outcomes:
Elders attending this workshop will gain:
- A personal sense of what it means for them to be called by the “God of the burning bush.”
- A sense of some of the main features of Presbyterian belief – and what they personally can lean into and what they perhaps are less keen on
- A sense of the biblical basis for eldership
- More clarity about the shared leadership they have with an ordained minister; and what is distinctly an elder’s responsibility and what is the minister’s
- Some engagement with the dynamics with a congregational setting through their leadership lens
- An opportunity to reflect on their relationship with Scripture as a leader
